This Holiday Travel
to Uganda encompasses taking a visit
to Semliki, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi
Impenetrable Forest for Uganda Wildlife
Safaris, Primates and Gorillas in
Uganda.
Day 1: ENTER
UGANDA
Enter Uganda through Entebbe International
Airport and you will be warmly received
at the visitors’ lounge by a
representative from AAB Tours and
Travel. He will then take you to Kampala
Serena Hotel or Holiday Express Hotel
for your overnight and dinner.
Day 1: DRIVE TO SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK
After a fantastic breakfast, drive
to Semliki National Park going down
to the eastern side of Lake Albert.
Situated in the western Rift valley
basin, Semliki National Park is among
the Uganda National Parks with extensive
Riparian forests and rain forests
with short and high grass Savannah.
It is also well-known for its night
game drives that offer you with nocturnal
animals like the white tailed mongoose
and slender mongoose, standard and
pennant winged nightjars, cats, hyenas
and leopards to mention. Semliki is
the only place in Uganda where you
can do a spot lit nighttime game drive.
The park by and large offers plenty
of surprises as you may not know what
you might come across. Overnight at
Semliki Safari Lodge or Kanyankyu
Ecological site.
Day 2: SEMLIKI CHIMPANZEE
TRACKING
Have a cup of tea before heading to
the stunning rain-forest for wild
chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are
habitually tracked at the crack of
dawn or sunset due to the fact that
they tend to vanish in the course
of the day. There are also a number
of bird species which are found in
this charming forest. After an excellent
chimpanzee walk, you relax in the
afternoon at the pool or go for game
drives while you watch the sun plunging.
Have the meals and spend the night
at Semliki Safari Lodge or Kanyankyu
Ecological Site.
Day 3: SEMLIKI GAME DRIVE,
HEAD OFF FOR QUEEN ELIZABETH NP
Game drive en-route from Semliki National
a park. The journey will take you
through the attractive green countryside
eventually ascending the Western Rift
Valley to Fort Portal. You will then
continue to Queen Elizabeth National
Park. You will reach in the late afternoon
and proceed for a nature walk around
the Mweya Peninsula where you spot
game like the Uganda Kob, bush pigs,
bush bucks, colobus monkeys and many
others. Dinner and overnight at Mweya
Safari Lodge.
Day 4: WILDLIFE SAFARI AND CHIMPS
TRACKING
Get your breakfast and go for a forest
walk in the Kyambura gorge to trek
the chimps and other primates. You
may go for a walk in the Maramagambo
forest to pursue primates. You will
retreat from the walk for lunch at
the lodge and then go for a launch
cruise in the afternoon. This boat
trip will furnish you a fascinating
watch of games like hippos, buffaloes
and many water birds. Dinner and overnight
at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute
of Ecology.
Day 5: GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO
BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Early in the morning prior to dawn,
you will wake up for a game drive
in the Kasenyi section of the park
to catch a sight of the early risers
and predators disappearing to their
hide outs. Retire from the game drive
for late breakfast and drive off to
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. You arrive
in midday hours and check in at Gorilla
Resort or Volcanoes Bwindi. After
lunch at the lodge, you will take
a rest or move around in the nearby
areas awaiting for your dinner and
overnight at the lodge with high hope
the next day’s activity, ‘Gorilla
Tracking’.
Day 6: BWINDI FOREST GORILLA
TRACKING
In the morning, take sufficient breakfast
to gain power necessary for gorillas
tracking. Before 8:00am, report to
the ranger station for registration
and be briefed by one of the ranger
guides. You will trek through thick
creepers and bushes looking for the
Mountain Gorillas in Uganda, an exercise
that could last between one to nine
hours. It is marvelous to sit in the
forest among the gorillas, look intently
at them complain to each other. It
is an extraordinary atmosphere being
with these eye-catching human-like
animals. Time permitted with these
primates is only 1 hour in which every
minute counts greatly. With a free
afternoon you can alternatively take
a guided walk out on the Munyaga River
trail that leads to three pleasant
clean waterfalls with views of epiphytic
ferns, tree ferns and orchid’s
colorful butterflies. You may also
have a guided village hike to see
how the locals live. Overnight at
Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Community Bandas
(FB).
Day 7: DRIVE TO KAMPALA
Start the day with an early breakfast
and then drive off to Kampala. Lunch
at Masaka town from where you will
proceed to Kampala making a brief
stopover at Mpambire and Uganda Equator
for a photo session and handcraft
shopping. Arrive in Kampala in the
evening and retire to Kampala Serena
Hotel or Holiday Express Hotel.
